Engaged by the VP of Operations to rebuild and extend the Power BI estate across production, plant performance, site and safety - embedded inside the client's Fabric platform team. A new semantic layer and report architecture, transformations in the medallion pattern (Lakehouse bronze, Warehouse silver and gold) in Python notebooks with SQL, orchestrated through Fabric Pipelines, with modelling standards so the platform scales beyond the initial build.
The Maintenance Excellence function needed visibility across the full planning cycle - backlog, on-time compliance, plan attainment, schedule loading, utilisation - grounded in SAP PM data that was rich but not analytics-ready.
Working from curated SAP PM datasets in Snowflake - functional location hierarchies, work orders, operations, planner groups, work centres, revisions, campaigns - enterprise maintenance logic and KPI definitions were encoded at the data layer, not in report-level hacks. A clean star schema behind Power BI Dataflows Gen2 meant every dashboard ran off one performant, consistent model, built in sprint cadence with maintenance SMEs and engineers.
Invoice handling was manual: financial data lived in Xero, and getting it into operational tracking and reporting meant fragmented hand-work every month. The highest-value fix was not a dashboard - it was a small piece of well-engineered automation.
